Some visitors note that the wait time for food can occasionally extend during peak hours, particularly on Sundays. A few guests expressed disappointment with the limited vegetarian options, hoping for more diverse meal choices. Occasionally, the noise level can rise during busy times, making it harder to engage in conversation, especially in larger groups. A portion of diners mentioned that although the prices are reasonable, certain popular items come with a supplemental cost. However, these minor issues don’t seem to overshadow the overall positive dining experience many have at Mash and Barrel.
Saw the reviews on here and my hopes weren't too high but I was happy to be proved wrong. We arrived during busy evening service without prebooking. We needed a table for six in a dog friendly area, with someone using a mobility scooter and a young toddler. After a short wait we were given a table. We ordered food and drink using the Qcode on the table, and the drink arrived quite promptly. We waited about half an hour for the food which was hot and delicious. We also had deserts which were delightful. The staff were professional and friendly. All round a good experience.
Great restaurant with warm atmosphere - with my partner and 3 kids and the kids got to take photos with the mascots and got to choose stickers with a range of coulouring activities for them, really helped take the stress off our shoulders. A big thankyou to Declan the manager who went above and beyond to deliver an exceptional service.
We have eaten here twice this week both times great food but today they were even better. My little girl is autistic with adhd and likes to have the same thing. But what she had the other day wasn't on the daytime menu but after speaking to a lovely young lad he went to ask the kitchen if they would make her steak that she wanted they said yes and made her very happy and she managed to eat another meal which sounds not a big thing but she struggles with eating so for them to go out their way to help was amazing she enjoyed every bite as they did it exactly right
8 of us had a meal out while on holiday. We chose from the 2 for £15 menu we did pay supplements because of what we chose but everything was well above our expectations. The steak was melt in your mouth ,the 2 burgers ultimate and chicken were delicious and a very good portion. Also big praise to the staff especially our waitress Ruby nothing was too much trouble, she was extremely pleasent and a credit to your team.
I am autistic and was helped to order by a lovely gentleman called Barry, really helpful and accommodated my eating needs. Really understanding and polite. He deserves a promotion, would give him 10 stars if possible. Thank you Barry ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
For what it is it's expensive but when you are on haven itself it's one of only places you can sit and eat in. The food itself is ok think spoons, but spoons brekkie is better hands down. Dinner is alright but at nearly £20 for a Frankenstein steak it's vertical, very very chewy and meat glue down the center. Curry is alright tho, kids menu could do with a face lift as not all kids eat yellow and beige. The staff are the saving grace, overworked underpaid but they are absolutely fantastic and friendly.
Yes it’s a knock off weatherspoons cheap and cheerful. One member off staff to mention is Aaron. We came with our autistic son. We made him aware our son doesn’t do crowds. And he was very accommodating and since then every time we have seen him around the park he always speaks and asks how things are. Absolutely credit to the company can’t thank Aaron enough made our time in the mash and barrel very pleasant I will be sure to return 👍
